Amd's Second-generation Ryzen Processor Imports 12nm, Zen+ Architecture

After  announcing the launch of Radeon RX 500X series display adapters for OEM  desktops and notebooks, AMD announced the launch of the  second-generation Ryzen processor with a 12nm process and Zen+ core  architecture. The first wave is still targeted at desktop product  demand. The Ryzen 7 2700X, Ryzen 7 2700, Ryzen 5  2600X, and Ryzen 5 2600 processors were introduced, and the 8-core,  16-thread design was adopted. It is expected that it will be available  for sale starting April 19.

After  the formal ban was lifted, AMD finally brought the second-generation  Ryzen processor with a 12nm process design and Zen+ architecture to the  player, confirming the launch of the Ryzen 7 2700X, Ryzen 7 2700, Ryzen 5  2600X, and Ryzen 5 2600. Processors, respectively, to meet different performance requirements  for players to use, including entry-level funds will adopt 6 core  architecture, 12 thread design, the highest is to use 8-core, 16 thread  specifications, as for the thermal power design minimum from 65W  take-off, up to 105W.

In  the proposed price segment, the second-generation Ryzen series will  start at $199, with a maximum price of $329. It is expected to open  sales from April 19th, in which Ryzen 5 series will supply original  Wraith Spire fan accessories, and Ryzen 7 The series will provide Wraith Prism fans with LED backlighting.

As  for the chipset part, the second-generation Ryzen series processors  will be used for the motherboards of the AMD X470 chipset, also using  the AM4 interface, while the existing 300 series chipsets can also be  compatible with the second-generation Ryzen series processors through  BIOS upgrade. Players  who have previously purchased first-generation processors can easily  upgrade their new processors by simply updating the motherboard BIOS. At present, ASUS, ASRock, MSI, and Gigabyte all cooperate with AMD to build motherboard products for the new X470 chipset.

According  to the previous AMD note, the Zen 5 architecture design has been under  development. Compared with the Zen+ architecture with the 12nm process,  the design will be introduced into the 7nm process. The Zen 5  architecture is expected to use the 5nm or smaller process design.
